Roast

Not to be confused with artisan roast opposite stravaigin, which specialises on coffee, Roast just next to Firebird is my new favourite sandwich place.
It's relatively new, has sitting space and an expanded menu.
I tried their sample box which contained 3 mini sliders made with what I thought were brioche rolls, but apparently are just mini morning rolls. Instead of just being a vehicle for the filling they add to the whole experience. They were lightly glazed and there was almost a slight crunch when bitten into. Savoury and buttery they took the sliders to a whole other level.
I had the brisket first which dripped with juice. It was really tasty.
Then the pulled pork which I have to say was also tasty and distinctly different to the brisket(of course). The piri piri chicken was good but paled in comparison to the other two as it didn't quite have the flavour punch they had.
It was so good I had to go back in to get another three to take home for HI.
Really good for £5.
Ps the Philly cheesesteak was up there with the brisket and pulled pork. It's topped with a really tangy cheddar which was so powerful I thought it was goats cheese for a moment.
I am planning my next trip already.

I'm from Philly and I daresay I never saw a cheesesteak sandwich come with cheddar cheese. Then again, times change.
