Bubo

Another old favourite. Still providing exquisite creations at prices that would be unheard of in this country. I don't know how they do it. The little one was like a child in a sweet shop (which he was). Tucked in a little corner by the Santa Maria Square in Born it's definitely worth a stop.

Cacao Sampaka

Travelling with a child gives the experience of eating all things chocolate another dimension. The brownie was a bit dry but the hot chocolate and in particular my cold chocolate with passionfruit was immensely pleasurable. It had my tastebuds singing, so much so I tried to go back the next day for another but it was shut :(

Guilty pleasures II and III

Now, I know that any self respecting foodie is meant to embrace nothing less than a 70% single estate guanaja from Valrhona when it comes to chocolate, but the Ripple has a special place in my heart. It has something to do with its creaminess and the way it melts on my tongue. I get a lot of pleasure from eating one of these, and that's what it's surely meant to be about.

Likewise these little fellows.

I don't usually like American chocolate finding that it has an odd consistency and doesn't taste real, but this combination of sweet chocolate and salty peanuty goodness is a winner.
