Field, Edinburgh

Lovely food, small place only 25 covers and the tables are slightly too close for you to feel your conversation remains private.
My coffee was very good. The gazpacho and gaucamole less refined than I expected (I was thinking clear tomato consommé and deconstructed gazpacho) but still tasty. My duck main was very tasty and large in size. Natalie seemed happy with her dishes which were from the festival lunch menu. My chocolate and passion fruit delice was intense and good but too rich for us both to finish. The treacle tart was good and chewy and served as an individual tart.
I ate very well for £31 including 10% tip. You'd be lucky to have this as your neighbourhood local.
